I am running for District Judge because I love the law, I believe in our justice system, and I believe my experience and temperament have prepared me to serve our community well. I believe our communities deserve a court that protects public safety, applies the law fairly and consistently, respects the rights of victims and everyone who comes before it, and moves cases through the judicial system efficiently.
As judge, I will be prepared, fair, firm when necessary, respectful and impartial. I will decide cases based on the law and the facts, not personalities or politics.
My commitment is to help keep Lincoln and Union Parish communities safer for families and children, while ensuring that crime victims are heard, not forgotten, and receive the notice and rights our Constitution guarantees.
Everyone who comes before the court deserves to know that the law will be applied fairly and consistently. As judge, I will decide cases based on the law and the facts, not personalities or politics.
Moving cases through the judicial system efficiently will be a top priority. I will work with the District Attorney’s office, lawyers and law enforcement to help cases move responsibly through the system, protecting victims, defendants and families, and improving the judicial process for everyone involved.
My career has given me experience on many different sides of the justice system. I began my career in law enforcement as a deputy corrections officer, represented the State of Louisiana as an Assistant Attorney General, currently represent private clients in civil matters, and others accused of crimes. I believe this combination of experience has prepared me for the broad responsibilities of a District Judge.
I have served and practiced in courtrooms across multiple parishes and clerked in the Third Judicial District, in the same courts I am seeking to serve as judge, under Judges Cynthia Woodard, James Boddie, and Jay McCallum, now a justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court.
A lifelong resident of this area, I was raised in Bernice, where my grandfather owned and operated Bernice Pharmacy. I understand the concerns of our residents, the growing needs of our communities, and the broad responsibilities of serving as District Judge in Lincoln and Union Parishes.

Help us build a strong campaign across Lincoln and Union Parishes and support Phillip Ellis for District Judge, Third Judicial District, Division B.
